I started teaching at the Atlanta Middle School in 2006

I have been with the Atlanta ISD since 1993.

I did my student teaching in first grade at the Atlanta Primary School.   I took my first teaching job at Bright Star, in Bright Star Arkansas.  (I was the only first grade teacher there) I taught at Bright Star for three years.  I came back to Atlanta ISD as a first grade teacher at the Atlanta Primary School where I stayed for 9 years before coming to the Atlanta Middle School.

I am currently teaching sixth grade Reading and I LOVE it!!!

I am married to Doug Rutland.  We have been married for 32  years. 

We have two daughters, Allie (27), and Lauren (26). They are both graduates of Atlanta High School!!

We have one golden retriever “Millie”
